  • NEW PATHS ARE LOOKING FANTASTIC

    Thu 22 Feb 2018 Ms S Stafford
I have just made a visit to school this morning and wow! The new paths with the lighting look spectacular.  The path to the main gate on Hill Crescent has been widened, but not only that, Mr Price and Mr Keeling (Ellis's Dad in Year 5) have also been busy working round the clock this week to lay an additional path to the gate by the park which will create another access to school.  With only the two of them working in difficult weather this week, I cannot thank them enough for their hard work.  They have saved the school thousands and not only that, we would not have been able to afford to have this done if it wasn't for Mr Price and Mr Keeling.  The path will be a lovely walk down to school which will be well lit in the dark and there are further plans to enhance it with shrubs and flowers.  I hope everyone will be as delighted as I am and join me in heartfelt thanks to Mr Price and Mr Keeling.

    SWIM CHAMPIONS

Tuesday 13th February saw our Swim Gala team become champions.

All represented school and swam superbly. A huge thank you to Mrs Hill and Miss Adams for selecting the team and organising the gala. I also want to congratulate and thank you as parents for your support as I understand spectating was tricky and you all worked as a team to ensure everyone got to see their children. The swim team showed off their medals and the trophy today in assembly. Swimming is much becoming ‘Dalestorth’s sport’ and we are very proud.

  • Congratulations Erin!

    Thu 15 Feb 2018 Ms S Stafford
Congratulations to Erin who has had all her hair cut to donate to the 'Little Princess Trust.'  This charity enables wigs to be made for children who have been suffering diseases that may cause them to lose their hair.  This was all Erin's own idea and we think she is fabulous.  Erin has also raised £1091 for the charity.  Very well done!
  • Sign2Sing

Wed 14 Feb 2018 Mrs Bailey

  • Extreme reading!

    Sun 11 Feb 2018 H Claxton

Where is the most extreme place your child has ever read a book? Whether it is up a tree, on top of a mountain or stood on their head, we want your photos! Your challenge is to take a picture of your child reading somewhere extreme and send it in to school by Thursday 1st March. We are doing this as part of the school’s celebration of World Book Day.

We will run a competition for the most extreme places reading has taken place and prizes will be awarded on Friday 2nd March. A display will also be made from the photos.

Obviously, we encourage you to keep safe but we are really looking forward to seeing who in school has such a passion for reading that they have to do it anywhere and everywhere!

We look forward to seeing your entries

  • Intelligent dogs

Thu 08 Feb 2018 Miss Layton

Yesterday afternoon, children had a superb visit from Lyra a very special dog.  Lyra and her owner Sarah visit different schools to teach them about taking care of dogs.  The owner Sarah represented The Dog's Trust charity and works tirelessly to rehome abandoned dogs.  Sarah explained to the children that many dogs are not taken care of and helped them to recognise ways to stay safe around dogs.  They understood strategies to help them understand how to greet dogs and their owners.  Above all the children really enjoyed meeting Lyra!
