We have an exciting variety of languages spoken in Dalestorth and we love learning about different countries and cultures.

If you have any celebrations or traditions that are special to your family and culture we would love to learn about them. 

Sometimes helping your child in school can be difficult, especially when you find English difficult.

You can use the Knowledge Mats that your child's teacher sends home to help with the vocabulary they need for that term.

English as and Additional Language is exactly that. All children who regularly hear languages other than English used in the home, either from one or both parents or even from other relatives, have the skill of using English as an additional language. Some children when they first come to Dalestorth haven't heard or used English before. Other children when they first come to Dalestorth have a level of understanding. It is our task to help all children grow in their confidence in using English both with their friends in the playground and in using language that will help their learning. Below are just a few of the  ways we help children develop their English and access the full curriculum.
