Below you will find weekly learning packs which will provide you with a range of learning activities for the week ahead. 

Don't forget to upload the set piece of work on to seesaw for me to see as well as complete the tasks from Purple Mash.

We are using Seesaw, which is a secure online digital learning platform, to accompany our new home learning projects which will be available each Monday.

Useful Information

Our PE days are Wednesdays and Fridays.

Times Tables Tests are on Mondays

Spelling Tests are on Mondays. 

Homework is given out on Thursdays and is due in the following Tuesday. 

Please ensure your child reads 3 times a week and that this is recorded in their diary - diaries will be checked each Monday morning and children who have read at least 3 times will receive a raffle ticket with the chance of winning a book during Praise Assembly each week.

Times Tables Rock Star Day!

On Thursday 5th December, years 5 and 6 enjoyed a truly amazing visit to 'The Holocaust Centre' in Laxton. We were incredibly lucky to hear a Holocaust survivor: Bob Norton who talked to us about his life before, during and after WW2. We also followed the life of Leo, a 10 year old Jewish boy, through 'The Journey' exhibition.

On Tuesday 12th November years 5 and 6 enjoyed a super World War 2 day. We researched the timeline of WWII; looked at and made our own propaganda posters; took part in a strict army drill led by Sergeant Thorne and enjoyed tomato soup, cheese bread whilst listening to war time music. On Tuesday 1st October, Years 5 and 6 enjoyed a fantastic visit to Eyam - The Plague Village. We spent time in the museum; looked at the Plague Cottages; Lydgate Graves; walked to the Boundary Stone and enjoyed a talk in the church. Thank you to all the kind adults who came to help us.

Autumn 1 – Fever, Fire and Fashion – History focusing on The Plague

Summer 1 – Our Commonwealth (British Empire) – Geography focus

Summer 2 – Voyage of Discovery – Science focus on Darwin, Adaption and selection

SATs TestsThere will be a meeting later in the year to discuss the tests in more detail, however the test dates are Monday 11th May 2020 – Thursday 14th May. Please DO NOT book any holidays during this week.

 

Residential – The year 5 and 6 residential to Walesby has been booked for Monday 15th June 2020 – Wednesday 17th June.
