Mathematics

We will be learning to:

Count up and back in 2s, 5s and 10s
Add by counting on
Subtract by counting back
Add and subtract using 10 frames
Addition and subtraction word problems
Recognise number bonds to 20; addition and subtraction pairs
Write number words to 20
Read and write the days of the week and the months of the year
Recognise 10s and 1s in 2 digit numbers
Ordering and comparing numbers
Measure length and height using non-uniform measurements and standard measurements cm.
Measuring weight and capacity.
Multiply and divide using arrays

English

For our English work we will be using a variety of fiction, non-fiction and poetry books.

Our topics for this term are -

Trading Places – The children will learn about the 7 continents of the world and investigate the country of Brazil. They will be learning about Brazilian culture and about the Brazilian rainforest.

Two Queens -The children will study and compare the reign of Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II. They will learning about the Royal Family and the wedding taking place in May.
