Useful Information

PE days are Wednesdays and Fridays.

Your child needs to come into school on their PE days (Wednesdays and Fridays) wearing their outdoor PE kit. PE will only take place outdoors until further notice. Again, please refer to the school website for details of our outdoor PE kit.

No jewellery is allowed in PE lessons, so if your child has their ears pierced they will either need to take their earrings out for P.E. or cover them with tape/plasters, provided by yourselves, so that they don’t get caught during the lesson.

Homework in Year 6 is given out each Thursday and is due in the following Tuesday.
Each week your child will receive three pieces of homework: maths, SPaG and comprehension in their three CPG books. Please ensure that your child does the correct page as we will mark this homework together. If your is struggling with any homework, then please let me know as soon as possible. I am happy to go over homework with individual children. Maths and SPaG guides will be sent home with your child to support their learning at home.

Spellings are given out on a Monday and your child will be tested on these the following Monday. The weekly spelling test will have a total of 15 spellings — 10 learnt and 5’unseen’ spellings from previous weeks. Spelling lists are located in the front of your child’s diary.

SATs Tests

According to the Department for Education, SATs will take place in 2022. There will be a meeting later in the year to discuss the tests in more detail, but the test dates are Monday 9th May 2022 – Thursday 12th May 2022. Please DO NOT book any holidays during this week.
