  • Successful first half of the season for boy's footbal team

Tue 21 Nov 2023 Mr. Robertson

Our boys' football team finished their fixtures this term with a victory against Morven Park Primary School on Thursday 16th November. The first half saw our boys play well but struggle to take the chances they created. In the second half with quicker passing and a better team shape the goals flowed and Harry (3), JJ, Kai, Zack plus an own goal saw the final school at 8-0. The boys have had a great term and and should be proud to be at the top of their league at the end of the term. They have also made it through the cup semi-finals where they will play Mapplewells in the new year. Many thanks to our parents for washing kits, transporting the boys to away fixtures and their great support. We start again in February.

  • First match of the season for the Netball Team

    Wed 11 Oct 2023

The Netball team played their first match of the season against Kirkby Woodhouse Primary. It was a tough game but they all played brilliantly and demonstrated our bee values throughout. Their resilience and determination was a treat to see. We are very proud of them all!

Thank you to all our supporters too.

  • Cup defeat despite great performance

Tue 20 Jun 2023 Mr. Robertson

Our football teams have played in two games last Tuesday 13th and Thursday 15th June. A team of year 5s and 6s who mostly hadn't represented the school before played against a much more experienced Forest Glade team on Tuesday and even though the game ended in a loss our team were brave and also kept going to the end of the game on a tricky pitch amid sweltering temperatures.

On Thursday our league team played a cup match against Broomhill Juniors in Hucknall. Roared on by their whole school Broomhill took an early lead with a great finish. Our children battled well and played some fantastic football. Goals from Sam and JJ gave us a deserved 2-1 lead  at half time much to the annoyance of the home crowd. In hot conditions, against a strong Broomhill, side the second half saw our team create numerous scoring chances but unfortunately not convert them. Broomhill were more clinical and ended up winning 4-2 to end the season for our team.
The 9 boys who played on Thursday played fantastically well and we were all incredibly impressed by the way they have represented the school this year. Much more importantly they have all consistently shown other teams that you can play competitively but also be kind and respectful to your opponents. Many thanks for all the support from families who have provided transport and words of wisdom all season.

  • Footballers win through in tricky cup match

Wed 31 May 2023 Mr. Robertson

In our second round cup game on Thursday 25th May our football team faced Greenwood Academy. Despite playing some excellent football in the first half we found ourselves a goal down at half time. In the second half we passed the ball well again and eventually managed to score an equalizer through JJ. Further pressure, led to goals from Lincoln, Elliott and an another goal from JJ meant the final score was a 4-1 victory. The team played brilliantly and were brave when they needed to be and played the game in a great spirit. The team played as well as they have all season. Many thanks to our supporters and their words of wisdom. We now have a very tricky away tie in the next round against Broomhill Junior School in Hucknall.

  • Footballers forced to settle for a draw

Fri 19 May 2023 Mr. Robertson

In our last league game on 18th May we played Orchard Primary School at home. Our away fixture in October ended in a tight 1-1 draw and this game was no different. In the first half Dalestorth played some good passing football. After 15 minutes, two well worked goals from Harry and Lincoln gave us a promising lead. Unfortunately, just before half time a free kick resulted in a goal mouth scramble and the score was reduced to 2-1. The second half was much the same with Dalestorth playing the more positive football but not taking the chances they created. Orchard capitalised on a defensive mix up to make the scores level. 2-2 proved to be the final score despite our best efforts. Next week we complete our fixtures with a cup game against Greenwood at home.

  • Battling win for football team

Tue 25 Apr 2023 Mr. Robertson

On Monday 24th April, our football team travelled to my old school in Stapleford for a friendly to play Albany Juniors. The team faced a physical and tricky team who did not give up until the final whistle. Despite going a goal down in the first ten minutes Harry and JJ scored with some clinical strikes to put us in the lead. Just before half time, Albany equalised. After half time our composed passing and movement put us 4-2 up with a few minutes to go. One more goal for each side settled the score at 5-3 at the end. Both Harry (2) and JJ (3) scored for the team but the children showed alot of bravery in a physical game and when they were able to they played some good football. The game was played in a good spirit and as ever the team represented our school well. Many thanks to our supporters for lifts and never ending encouragement.

  • Feisty Netballers

    Fri 21 Apr 2023

Our netball team played brilliantly this afternoon against Kirkby Woodhouse. The team demonstrated all of our Busy Bee values of Be brave, Be honest, Be a friend, Be you and Be kind (although we were described as feisty!). Unfortunately despite our best efforts Kirkby won. Many thanks to our supporters for their encouragement.

  • Battling win at Kirkby Woodhouse

Thu 20 Apr 2023 Mr. Robertson

Our league football team played at Kirkby Woodhouse this afternoon and after a end to end game won 1-0. The team played well and definitely showed bravery and determination in a tricky game. They played with kindness as always and thoroughly deserved to win. Many thanks to our loyal supporters for lifts and their encouragement. Also to Oliwer for stepping in at the last minute and playing so well.

  • Netball team in action!

    Mon 13 Mar 2023

A huge WELL DONE to the Netball team today! They played brilliantly in their match against Beardall Fields Primary School. The score was 6 -1 to Beardall but they all played with determination and perseverance, in some very windy weather. You did Dalestorth and yourselves proud!

  • A visit from Beth Tweddle

Thu 19 Jan 2023 Mrs Claxton

We were so lucky to have a visit from Beth Tweddle - gymnastics legend! She talked to us about her fantastic achievements.
    3 times World Champion
    6 times European Champion
    7 times British Champion
    Olympic Bronze Medallist, 2012
    Dancing on Ice Champion, 2013
She reminded us about the benefits of exercising and a healthy diet. Beth told us that she needed bravery, resilience, teamwork, friendship and respect to achieve her dreams - we thought these were very similar to our own Busy Bee values.
