Girl's Football Tournament

The girl's team took part in a tournament against Croft and Greenwood schools. Despite losing the first game and our first ever match as a team, they pulled together and got better and better with each match played. We drew all three of the other games, with some wonderful goals by Olivia J. We are all so proud of the team, they never gave up and put in 100% effort! Well done everyone!

Football League Fixtures

This term we are taking part in the Kirkby League. So far we have played Broomhill Junior School away and despite playing well the team did not take their chances. We lost 3-0 against a strong and physical side. In our second game, we were more clinical and played well against Morven Park. Goals from Harry and JJ were enough to see the team to a 3-0 victory. I will keep you updated on our next results.

Netball vs Kirkby Woodhouse.

The Dalestorth netball team played their first match against Kirkby Woodhouse and what a game it was! All the children tried their very best and gave it 100% all the way through. It was a close tie, being 4-4 until the final five minutes where Kirkby Woodhouse just managed to score the deciding goal to win 4-5. Lola was voted player of the team by the Kirkby Woodhouse players for the four amazing goals she scored. Well done to all the children who took part, you have made us all so proud! Thank you for the wonderful parental support too, it was lovely to have you all there.

Inspirational visit from Charlotte Henshaw

It’s not every day you get a visit from a famous person, but today we did! Charlotte Henshaw, British Paralympic gold medallist, came to talk to us in assembly. She told us her story, about her life from being a child with a difference to becoming a bronze and silver medallist at swimming and then a gold medallist in canoeing. She even bought her shiny medals to show us! Her inspirational speech taught us that you can achieve things you never thought possible in life, if you are brave and give things 100 percent! What an amazing example of our Be Brave Bee she is! Who knows, one of us sat in that hall today could be a medallist in the making!

Potted Sports 2022

We had a wonderful time during our Potted Sports afternoon. Children from Foundation Stage 2 to Year 6 were split into teams and rotated around the activities, scoring as many points as they could for their team. The Year 6 children were amazing team leaders, supporting the younger children, demonstrating the activities and keeping score. We even managed a little dancing fun at the end. What a fun afternoon we had!

It was a super first experience for the team and we are now ready and rearing to go in our up and coming football tournament. Thank you to all our wonderful supporters and well done to all the girls and boys who played amazingly well.

Nine Year 3 and 4 children took part in a Personal Best event hosted here at Dalestorth and run by our School Games Organiser, Glynn.  They took part in eight different challenges, including sprint runs, star jumps and football dribbling. They tried hard to complete as many repetitions in the 30 second time allocation. They then repeated each of these, showing great determination to try and beat their previous score. Their positivity and resilience was wonderful to see and we are so proud of them all. It was amazing to finally be back hosting some competitive sport on school grounds. Well done to all.
