In Lion Class our teacher is Miss Jesson and our teaching assistant is Mrs Smith, who also teaches us on a Wednesday afternoon.
We work closely with Mrs Bailey and Mrs Hickman from Tiger Class and Miss Lebeter joins us on Wednesdays too!
We are also lucky to have lots of support from childcare students throughout the week.

During Humanities Week we've been really busy having lots of fun & learning lots of new things!
Geography Day
In FS2 we have had lots of fun looking closely at our globe and finding out more about where we live. We also looked at where some other countries were in relation to us and asked lots of great questions! We found France in preparation for our French day and looked for China, as we are also celebrating Chinese New Year this week. We were amazed by how big China is compared to the UK!
We have also been drawing & labelling our own maps to show the route from our house to school or from school to Tesco ready for our trip later this week. We also explored animals that are found in hot climates in the sand tray and animals that are found in colder climates in the water tray.
French Day
We have really enjoyed French day in FS2! We dressed in red, white & blue and found out lots of information about France, as well as making our own French flags. We liked looking at some photos of the Eiffel Tower but weren't so sure about eating snails! We have also been learning some French words - we can now say hello, good morning, good afternoon, goodbye, yes, no & thank you and we even did some counting in French too!
History Day
We had lots of fun in FS2 during History Day exploring some Victorian toys! We were really excited about finding out about what types of toys children would have played with in the past and comparing them to the toys we play with today. We played with marbles, chalkboards, jacks, tin music boxes, kaleidoscopes and even had a go at using a diabolo!
We all had a fantastic time taking part in a Science experiment with the children in Year 5. We had to work together to design & make a parachute for our blu-tack man, thinking carefully about the materials we chose and the shape & size of our parachute. We then took them outside and had lots of fun testing our parachutes by dropping them from the KS2 trim trail. We enjoyed it so much we're hoping to do another joint activity with our new friends soon!
We've had a very busy Science Week! We've been experimenting with floating and sinking in the water tray, investigating magnets, creating bubble blowing paintings and exploring lots of autumnal natural materials such as leaves, pine cones & conkers with magnifying glasses.
On Tuesday we were lucky enough to have some ladies from the RSPB come into school to run a workshop with us about using our senses to explore the outdoor environment. We all had a fantastic time! We listened to an Autumn story, collected natural objects in our bags looking carefully at all the colours we could see, listened carefully to hear the birds singing and felt lots of different objects in our school grounds such as the trees. We then went back into the classroom and created some beautiful flower artwork with all the objects we had collected! We could even take the bags home with us so we can go on another nature walk and see what else we can find :)
We have even had a go at our own science experiments this week! We have enjoyed watching the colour spread from skittles using warm water, making a lovely colourful pattern and then we put food colouring in a bowl of milk and added drops of washing up liquid. The food colouring shot to the sides of the bowl. We had hoped something a bit more exciting would happen but unfortunately in science, experiments don't always work!! So then we went outside and made an explosion with diet coke and mentos! It was brilliant!! Mrs Bailey made us do a countdown and then put the mints in as fast as she could and then ran away as the coke exploded everywhere!! It was so good we asked her to do it again!
We have had such a great time doing science week that we think next half term we might turn our role play area into a science lab to continue the fun!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
