Useful Information
Our PE days are Wednesdays and Fridays.
Times Tables Tests are on Fridays.
Spelling Tests are on Mondays.
Homework is given out on Thursdays and is due in the following Tuesday.
Please ensure your child reads 3 times a week and that this is recorded in their diary - diaries will be checked each Friday morning and children who have read at least 3 times will receive a raffle ticket with the chance of winning a book during Praise Assembly each week.

A HUGE well done to all of Year 5 and 6 for their amazing performances of Cinderella Rockerfella. Superb acting, singing and dancing. I am so proud of each and every one of you.

On Friday 17th May we had an amazing time celebrating the end of SATs with a trip to Alton Towers! The weather was perfect as was the children's behaviour throughout the day. A huge thank you to the lovely parents and staff members who helped us.

During the afternoon of Thursday 16th May, Year 6 enjoyed a well deserved after SATs reward of a McDonald's treat and a play on Dalestorth Park ... such fun!

On Wednesday 3rd April 2019 Years 5 and 6 enjoyed a fantastic day visiting the Mansfield Jamee Masjid Mosque in the morning followed by Mansfield Museum in the afternoon. We had an amazing morning learning so much about the Islam religion - including listening to the beautiful call to prayer and having all our many questions being answered - we even got some yummy cake! During the afternoon, Geoff at the Museum organised lots of fun trails and activities for us to take part in to explore the museum - including us earning points and prizes! A huge thank you to all the staff at both the mosque and the museum for a truly excellent day.

On Wednesday 27th February 2019, Year 6 were extremely lucky to have a whole day learning First Aid with Darren from St John Ambulance. We learnt all about: the recovering position; asthma; minor bleeding and bruising; burns and scalds; choking; communication and casualty care; fainting; first aid kits; poisons; the primary survey (DR ABC); shock and severe bleeding. A huge thank you to Darren for an amazing day!

On Friday 16th November we had lots of fun celebrating and raising money for Children In Need 2018. We made a whole class Pudsey picture, ate cakes and took part in line dancing! Thank you to Mrs Davies and

On Wednesday 14th November we took part in Anti-Bullying Day 2018. We came to school dressed to represent our unique individuality; discussed and took part in silent debates in the afternoon covering a wide range of anti-bullying questions as well as designing the perfect friend. Thank you to Mrs Davies for teaching us.
During the week commencing 5th November we had a wonderful World War 1 week. During the week we: read and wrote WW1 poetry; listened to interviews; watched war footage; learnt about life in the trenches; wrote letters home from the trenches and designed and made our own propaganda posters. The week ended with a fantastic visit to New Cross Church for a remembrance service and to place the final school wreath. Thank you to all the children for showing such great respect at the church and thank you again to all the adults who accompanied us.
I have one word ... WOW! Your space creative homework projects have been absolutely OUT OF THIS WORLD! From rockets to cakes to solar system models to raps to PowerPoints and animations - you did it all!
A huge well done to each and every one of you for your AMAZING EFFORTS! Thank you so much to all of the parents and family members who came to view our projects - I hope you enjoyed them too!
On Tuesday 16th October we took part in 'Restart A Heart' day by learning CPR. A huge thank you to the team for helping us to know what to do in an emergency situation.
On Thursday 11th October Years 5 and 6 visited the National Space Centre in Leicester. We had lots of fun exploring the centre and discovering lots of new facts about the space. We also watched an amazing film called 'Astronaut' in the amazing 360 degree planetarium!
A huge thank you to Mr Price and Mr Smith for coming with us.

On Thursday 4th October we enjoyed SCIENCE DAY ... we made and launched our own rockets as well as making and tasting sour sherbet! A huge thanks to Mrs Davies and Mrs Carter for the day.

On Tuesday 25th September, Year 6 took part in a cross country festival at Quarrydale Academy. All the children put 100% effort into both the long and short races with excellent results achieved.
