  • The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

    Sat 28 May 2022

On Thursday we had a super time celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. We had a whole school tea party on the playground yesterday afternoon. We took part in the ATTFE College’s unofficial world record for the world’s largest cream event. The children were treated to a scone with clotted cream and other delicious goodies, followed by traditional games on the field. The dining room looks great decorated with the children’s bunting.

On Friday, it was a treat to see the staff and children dressed up in their costumes from the decades and the rainbow effect looked fantastic in the whole school assembly this afternoon. The children have been busy learning about the history that has taken place during the Queen’s reign. Thank you all for your support with our dressing up themes this week.

  • Dalestorth Football Success!

    Sat 21 May 2022

On Tuesday 17th May, Mr Robertson and Mr Lamb took some children (Esmae, Shelby, Darcie, Eissa, Charlie, Malachy, William, Tyler, Max W, Max S, Olivia J, Lacie S, Declan, Jacob, Alfie, Finnley and Freddie) to a football tournament at Mapplewells Primary School.

The children were an absolute credit to the school and were extremely sporting demonstrating our school values. The football skills displayed were outstanding and the children played well. Dalestorth team 1 won the tournament with 15 points — well done Dalestorth!

A massive thank you to Mr Hill from Mapplewells for organising the event.

  • Year 6 Alton Towers Trip

    Mon 16 May 2022

As a treat for the children's hard work during SATs week, our Year 6 children went to Alton Towers for the day. The children enjoyed exploring the theme park's rides: Nemesis, Wicker Man, Rita and smiler to name a few. We managed to get on every single big ride at Aton Towers and did over 20,000 steps!

It was an absolute delight (actually a treat) to take the children as their behaviour was exemplary. We hope the children had a lovely time!

  • SATs Week

    Fri 13 May 2022

Well done to our Year 6 children! Words cannot describe how pleased and proud we are of them. They have demonstrated all of our values this week and they have worked tirelessly with a smile on their faces. As a treat, the children had McDonalds and a trip to Sutton Lawn.

We are also really proud of the Year 5s who have been very mature and helped Mrs Hall whilst the Year 6s have been sitting their SATs. Well done everyone!

  • Year 6 SATs Preparation

    Fri 06 May 2022

Our Year 6 children have been working extremely hard this week in preparation for their upcoming SATs next week. They have been consolidating what they have learnt this week with Mr Lamb and Mrs Blake. We have been amazed with the year 6's attitude, resilience and willingness to learn.

The children have enjoyed revising in different ways such as orienteering, relay races and outdoor spelling practise.

We would like to wish our Year 6 children all the best with their SATs! Remember to Be Brave and Be You!

Good Luck Year 6 — just try your best!
