  • Dalestorth Children backing Eden Francis for Rio 2016

Tue 26 Apr 2016 Mr Rumsby
Dalestorth was visited by track and field medal winner Eden Francis on Tuesday 26th of April. Eden, who is the current record holder for women's shot-put, led all the children in a gruelling work-out. Afterwards she talked about her journey through sports; she is a Midland's local and a genuine hope to make Team GB for Rio 2016. Eden will find out if she has made the cut in July. As a sporting school with lots of future champions, the children got behind the Sports Champions Programme and raised a whopping £1500! As a bonus for the children we as a school collect 60% of this, which we will put into developing sports provision here.  The event was a source of inspiration to the children in thinking about their own healthy lifestyles and sporting aspirations.  Many thanks for all your sponsor money.

  • Queen's Birthday Celebrations

Thu 21 Apr 2016 Ms Stafford

Our celebrations began yesterday when we had a visit from the Queen's Lieutenant Colonel David Sneath.

Today we dressed in red, white and blue and decorated the school in bunting.  We learnt all about the queen, her family and her role and enjoyed a sunny, but windy picnic lunch in honour of her 90th Birthday.  Many Happy Returns Your Majesty!

A huge thank you to the school kitchen for putting a superb picnic.

  • Water Saving from Severn Trent Water

Tue 19 Apr 2016 Mr Rumsby
Children in school enjoyed an assembly by Simone and Carol from Severn Trent water who were full of ideas on how and why we should save water. They also talked about what is safe to flush down the toilet (no guesses needed) and we found out that baby wipes take years and years to break down so shouldn't be flushed down the toilet. A big thanks to the ladies.
