Martin Luther King class

2022-2023

We are named after a famous American who fought for the rights of black americans. Martin Luther King, Jr. believed all men are created equal and should enjoy the same rights and privileges.

Meet the Team

Mrs Holt is our class teacher. Mrs Carter also teachers us all day on a Monday and a Tuesday afternoon.

Mrs Bennett is working with us all week helping us to learn.

Key Information

This half term our topic is How did life in Britain change from the Stone Age to the Roman invasions?"

PE will be on Wednesdays and Fridays. Please send your child to school in their outdoor PE kits on their PE days.

Homework will be sent out each Thursday and should be completed and returned by the following Tuesday. We will alternate sending English and Math’s homework each week and it will support the work we have been doing in school that week. The children will be rewarded with a stamp and dojo points if they return their homework on time each week over the half term. They will also receive weekly spellings and times tables which they will be tested on each week. Times tables will be tested on Mondays.

Spelling tests will also take place on Wednesdays. Please encourage your child to practice their new spellings which will be in their diaries. Please also ensure that you listen to your child read at home regularly, encouraging them to try a wide range of books. Children will receive a reward stamp each week if they have read at least three times at home, but this must be recorded and signed by an adult from home.

We are really looking forward to the year ahead ~ please ask if there's anything else you would like to know!
