Each term, you will receive a newsletter telling you more information about each topic as well as brand new Knowledge Mats! These provide you with ‘Subject Specific Vocabulary’ and ‘Sticky Knowledge’ that your child will be learning throughout the topic.
The talented author Fay Evans - Children's Author visited Dalestorth today. Fay inspired the children to read and write with her passion and love for books.
The children enjoyed listening to Fay read her books: ‘Fred The Fire-Sneezing Dragon’ and ‘Bob’s Beard’. They especially liked getting involved in the story telling.
Thank you Fay for a wonderful day!
Rock Star Day
We had such a great day dressed as rock stars! We practised using Times Table Rock Stars and Numbots, took part in a maths hunt and designed ort own guitars.
Children In Need 2021
Look how amazing we all look dressed up, with our crazy hair! We raised over £600 pounds for this wonderful charity and had lots of fun along the way.
Harvest Festival
We enjoyed celebrating Harvest . We sang beautifully and enjoyed watching the other classes perform for us. We bought in so many donations for the John Eastwood Hospice and the homeless people of Mansfield. The amount we sent in was staggering. We listened to Pastor Simon as he spoke to us about the importance of giving thanks for all we have at this time of year.
The Toy Picnic
During our English lessons we have been learning about invitation writing. We then wrote invitations to our favourite toys, asking them to join us for a picnic party. We had such fun playing games, dancing and eating tasty treats with our toys.
The Naughty Bus
After reading the Naughty Bus in our English lessons the children enjoyed re-creating the route the bus took. This helped them develop their story language for when they wrote their final piece of writing.
