Our Reading Area

On Wednesday 3rd April 2019 Years 5 and 6 enjoyed a fantastic day visiting the Mansfield Jamee Masjid Mosque in the morning followed by Mansfield Museum in the afternoon. We had an amazing morning learning so much about the Islam religion - including listening to the beautiful call to prayer and having all our many questions being answered - we even got some yummy cake! During the afternoon, Geoff at the Museum organised lots of fun trails and activities for us to take part in to explore the museum - including us earning points and prizes! A huge thank you to all the staff at both the mosque and the museum for a truly excellent day.

Year 5 - We're Walking In The Air

Sit back, relax and enjoy a wonderful performance of 'We're Walking In The Air' played by all Year 5 on the ukulele. An accumulation of excellence! Really well done!

Anti-Bullying Day

Lest We Forget.

We spent a lot of time remembering those who fought bravely for our modern world and engrossed ourselves in History this week. Looking at the context of WW1, the history of it, the battles, the survival, the technology, medicine, lives and society. We had some fantastic questions, curiosity and a wonderful openness to express our thoughts and feelings around this sensitive subject. What impressed us the most was the sheer respect shown by all and when asked "Why should we remember?" The answer was simply "We are the next generation and it is up to us to never forget what they had to go through!"

Wow! Well done! Please see some of photo's below which show a small snapshot of this week.

Restart a Heart. We all had an amazing, interactive session learning the basics of CPR.

DT Moon Buggies. We had an amazing time making our Moon Buggies. Using a lot of DT skills as well as planning, designing and editing our designs.

Science Day. We had a fantastic time creating and launching rockets, investigating the effect of sugar on the body and creating our own sherbert. Superb day of scientific enquiry and learning.
