Year 5 - Cheetahs

Cheetahs 2020-21

Who teaches us?

 

Mr Thorne will teach in Cheetahs everyday.

Mrs Carter supports Cheetahs and teaches us ICT and French on a Wednesday.

Mrs Bennett supports Cheetahs and teaches us on a Monday afternoon.

Mrs Blake supports Cheetahs and Upper Key Stage 2.

Welcome  to the start of an exciting adventure in year five. I am so pleased to be teaching Cheetahs this year. It will be amazing! I hope you all had a wonderful summer and are now ready to get started for the year ahead. Please see below for a quick outline of the topics we will be covering this academic year.

 

Autumn : Were the Anglo Saxons or Vikings better invaders? (History Focus)

Spring: Why are rainforests so important? (Geography Focus)

Summer: Why are people fascinated with space? (Science Focus)

 

We will aim to have our residential for years 5 and 6 in the summer term. More information to follow.

 

Please remember that you are more than welcome to get in touch with me via the school office for anything you are unsure about. 

Useful information:

PE is on a Tuesday and Friday.

Please send your child to school on these days in their PE Kit only. They are not to get changed during school.

Homework is given out on a Thursday and should be brought back in on the following Tuesday. Homework will be both English and Maths.

Timestable quizzes will continue to happen during maths lessons.

Spelling tests will happen on a Tuesday. This will include the spelling list of 10 words plus 5 other 'blind' words.

Please aim to read at least three times a week. Reading diaries will be checked regularly on a Monday morning with raffle tickets being given to those who achieved this.
