• Scooter-go-go

  The Dalestorth Scooter Rack is now in place and awaiting YOUR scooter! Thanks to Mr Price for doing a great job of the final fix. The rack was paid for by the Vine Tree Charity Shop in Skegby and money raised by the children via the disco. A big thanks to the Vine Tree's generosity.

  The rack is for the use of all children although it is sited on the KS2 playground. George Dudley has scooted everyday so far! Well done George. Please think about leaving the car at home and walk/scoot this Spring.

  p.s. Please remember to push scooters once on the school grounds.

  

• Medics in the making

  Children at Dalestorth got a flavour of life in a hospital and the work of nurses and doctors. Thanks to Mr Robinson whose 'hands-on' approach to the workshops proved a big hit. Mr Robinson discussed with all the children their own experiences when they had visited a hospital. In addition, Mr Robinson explained why studying different subjects at school is important if you wish to work in hospitals.

  There are some nasty bugs going about.  Below is a leaflet from Sheffield NHS telling us about one of them, we have also had a lot of children with a general vomiting bug.  Be vigilant - look out for signs your child is unwell and remember the 48-hour absence from school rule to reduce the risk of infections spreading.

  

• The chicks have hatched!

  The incubated eggs in FS2 and KS1 have hatched!  The first chick came over the weekend and we now have 4 chicks in KS1 and 3 in FS2.  They are fluffy and absolutely beautiful!

  Mr Price is going to organise a chicken coup so we can keep them and always have Dalestorth chickens!

• Book Day 2016

  Another successful World Book Day - the biggest range of characters EVER! Children celebrated the day in their own classes with a range of activities linked to picture books.

  Photographs and some of the work from the day is on display in the school dining room. Below is a selection of pictures from the day. Thanks to all the children for all their great costumes and staff too.

  The winners for the best costume are featured in a picture (nursery winners and Kurtis not included, sorry).
