Outdoor Play and Learning

Dalestorth Primary and Nursery School is delighted to be an Opal school. Each child in school has a pair of wellies as part of their school uniform which live in our fabulous purpose-built welly sheds. Come rain or shine all our extensive outdoor space is open to all children to play together every single day.

We already have a great range of play areas available, including scooters and bikes, three large sand and gravel pits, a muddy kitchen, a construction area with tyres, pallets and cable drums, a role play area with costumes, kitchens and music and an exciting choice of art and craft activities.

Each week children share their ideas for how we can develop and extend their Opal play times further. We are currently working on swings, slides and a roller-skating area!  

Children at Dalestorth love their play times! Through the power of our wonderful provision, children can develop their resilience, creativity, teamwork and co-operation skills, as well as having so much fun together!
