Vision, Ethos & Values

Our vision, ethos and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

School Vision Statement


Dalestorth Primary School is proud to serve local families and to be at the heart of the community.  We believe in caring relationships which foster the social, emotional and physical well being of our pupils as well as striving for academic success.  Children learn and grow in a warm, secure environment where they are respected and where they learn to respect others.


We believe a child’s time in primary school should be a happy time; learning should be fun and exciting; they should feel they belong and that they are supported as they develop friendships.  We believe in a calm, secure learning environment where children are encouraged to look beyond our neighbourhood to become responsible citizens of the future.


We are committed to developing the skills of our energetic team in order that they become highly effective professionals delivering the best possible education to our pupils.  We seek to develop innovative methods of teaching and learning, taking on board the best of new initiatives and using all resources available to support us.


We will share the pride we have in our school with others and promote our achievements.  We take pride that our children take on boards our ‘message’ and continue to excel as they move to other educational settings or into the world of employment.
